Bruce works with the Citizens Climate Lobby and they have been pushing for a tax on carbon with revenues returned to individuals for about 11 years. Right now 80 members of the House including Mark Pocan sponsor the Energy innovation and Carbon Dividend Act, a bill we are encouraging. And the Senate Finance Committee is currently considering including the language of that bill in the reconciliation package. The City of Madison and Mayor Satya have just endorsed the bill in August, joining 350 Madison, Inc, NAACP Wisconsin, the WDP platform, and the Dane County Board.
This is absolutely the best chance we have had to get this crucial piece of the effort to cut carbon emissions to zero we have ever seen. We need tens of thousands of different people calling for a price on carbon.
